Description

Say hello to our Wax Pennies! Poured in our Cotswolds workshop, our Wax Pennies are handmade from our secret blend of British beeswax, organic jojoba oil and pine resin and are perfect for making and re-waxing beeswax wraps at home.

These simple to use Wax Pennies can be easily melted into cotton fabrics of your choice to create brand new beeswax wraps. They can also be used in the same way to refresh your tired and well used beeswax wraps.

They are small but mighty and will go a long way to keeping your wraps alive! Giving you another 6 months to a year out of your wraps. Our pack of 12 Wax Pennies can make between 4 and 5 small wraps from scratch (2 or 3 large) or refresh up to 12 old beeswax wraps (depending on their size).

Each Wax Penny is approximately 4g.

Making A New Wrap:

  • Grab a tea towel and place a sheet of baking paper on it, followed by your piece of fabric. Add wax
pennies on top, 2-3 for a smaller piece of fabric (20 x 20cm) or 4-5 for a medium piece (30 x 30cm) – add more if your fabric is larger.
  • Cover with another large sheet of baking paper (sandwiching the wax pennies and cotton fabric) and, using an iron on medium heat, slowly move it over the pennies through the baking paper, melting them into the fabric underneath. Disperse the wax evenly by moving the iron across the fabric and into the corners.
  • Once you’ve finished, quickly peel the baking paper away from your new wrap whilst it’s still warm (the wax may still be hot so be careful!) then waft your wrap for 10 seconds until cool.

Refreshing A Beeswax Wrap:

  • Grab a tea towel and place a sheet of baking paper on it, followed by your beeswax wrap. Add wax
pennies on top, 1 for a smaller piece of fabric (20 x 20cm) or 2 for a medium piece (30 x 30cm) – add more if your fabric is larger.
  • Cover with another large sheet of baking paper (sandwiching the wax pennies and beeswax wrap) and, using an iron on medium heat, slowly move it over the pennies through the baking paper, melting them into the wrap underneath. Disperse the wax evenly by moving the iron across the wrap and into the corners, being careful not to spill over the wraps edges.
  • Once you’ve finished, allow the beeswax wrap to cool between the baking paper then peel the baking paper away from your refreshed wrap.

All of our Wax Pennies are handmade by our brilliant team in our Cotswolds workshop.
