Beeswax Wraps Recommended Show - BBC Drowning in Plastic

The Blue Planet series is arguably one of the main reasons why the world has suddenly finally taken notice of the devastating effects plastic is having on our environment and our health. Sir Richard Attenborough's series has been widely celebrated and left us in the final episode with an rousing call to arms;

“Surely we have a responsibility to care about our Blue Planet. The future of humanity and indeed all live on Earth now depends on us” - David Attenborough BBC.

The BBC is airing a new documentary called Drowning in Plastic on 1st October 2018 at 8:30pm. The show will highlight the impact that the Blue Planet series has had raising awareness of the risk of plastic on ecosystems. Be prepared for distressing hard hitting scenes as the episode is reported to include the dissection of a young shearwater chick on Howes Island, Australia with a stomach full 260 pieces of plastic!

At Beeswax Wraps we are dedicated to reducing single use plastics in the world. Our previous blog have highlight Beeswax Wraps as an alternative to cling film and aluminium foil, how Beeswax Wraps are more cost effective than single use sandwich bags and encouraging swapping plastic containers for Beeswax Wraps this school year.
